The plot is located in a large block including various institutional buildings such as the Bus Station, the Delegation of Agriculture, the National Police headquarters and the Land Register, most of which are covered with a skin made of brick. Moreover, the south-east corner of the plot faces the central Plaza de la Aviación Española. In the opposite corner, just about one hundred metres away, it is the Palacio del Infantado (15th and 16th centuries), which is considered to be one of the most beautiful examples of the blending of Gothic and Plateresque styles taking place in Castilian Architecture.
These existing conditions, as well as the designers´ willingness not to alter the environmental balance of this urban landscape, determined the final image of this multifunctional building: sturdy brick volume, articulated floor plate seamed to the neighbouring building preserving its cornice height, flat façades –except from projecting canopies–, aluminium frames to exterior faces and last, attic finished in steel sheet as roof top.
